NEW WEBSITE!

Finally. THECITYCHURCH website is up and running. It's pretty slim right now, but I'll be constantly updating it. If you know anyone looking for a church, send them to the site. Also, let me know what you think about it. www.thecitychurchlr.com

SPACE

I'm a experience guy. Just reading about something or hearing about something just doesn't cut it for me. I want to experience it myself. I want to feel, touch, see, hear, taste. That's all five right? Church is no different. From the lighting, sound, smells, colors, and textures. Church should be a place where we can experience the Creator of the universe with all of our senses. Paneled walls and dirty floors gotta go, so the space for where THECITYCHURCH is going to meet is going to be critical. We want our worship enviornments to be creative, comfortable venues that allow us to experience God in fresh and exciting ways.

This past Saturday, eleven of us spent about an hour looking around Riverdale, Hill Crest, and The Heights. We've been talking with the guys at the Riverdale 10 Cinema for a couple of months, but we wanted to take a morning and see if maybe there were any other spaces that might be more condusive to our mission as a church. We hope to make that decision by the end of the month, so we'll keep everyone posted. Wherever we end up, you can bet your sweet bippy that it's going to be right where God wants us.

THECITYCHURCH UPDATES

So, this is our new blog for THECITYCHURCH. I want to be able to keep everyone in the loop of what God is doing in and through THECITYCHURCH. God has been slowly bringing the vision of a new church plant for some time now. I've been on staff at Indian Springs Baptist Church for almost ten years, and I believe that God allowed me to serve in a great church alongside some awesome people to prepare Ashley and me for this time in our lives. We believe God wants to do something completely fresh and new in the city of Little Rock, and we're so excited to get to play a small part of that.

We're currently meeting with our launch team and working our way through the enormous list of tasks that it takes to build something from nothing. We're constantly looking for people to join us on this God-sized mission, so if you're looking for a church, just moved into town, or want to be a part of something creative and innovative, we'd love to meet with you. My email is hud.max@hotmail.com. Thanks so much for checking out our blog, and come back to visit often.
